The Raiders dropped their first match of the season Thursday night as their match with Carrington ended in a 42-42 tie. After a review of the rules the Cougars were awarded the victory since they edged the Raiders in individual victories, 8-7. The Raiders were able to pick up wins over Chewning and Neal. Despite the loss to Carrington, which brought their record to 5-1, the Raiders are stil tied for first place in the conference.

Wrestling Team off to a Great Start

The Githens wrestling team has started the season with three straight wins. The defending conference champions lost several key wrestlers from last year’s squad, including four champions and two runner’s up. But they have several guys returning with starting experience and some first year wrestlers with tons of potential. With wins over Brogden, Carrington, and DSA to start the season, the Raiders look like one of the teams that will be fighting for the championship as they hope to win back to back titles.
